Lockword (lockword.games) is a daily word puzzle you play in your browser. This page explains, in plain words, what's saved when you play and how the adverts work.

No accounts, no personal details

You don't sign up for anything, and we don't ask for your name, email or anything else about you.

What the game saves on your device

Lockword remembers your games, stats, streak, notepad marks and your light or dark choice using your browser's own storage (called "local storage"). It stays on your phone or computer and is never sent to us. To wipe it, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Adverts

Lockword is free because it shows adverts from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show adverts, limit how often you see the same one, measure how they're doing, and, if you agree, choose adverts based on your interests.

If you're in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, you'll be asked before any of this happens, and you can change your mind at any time using the privacy and cookie settings link that appears on the page.

Other services the site uses

Google Fonts supplies the lettering. Your browser fetches it from Google, which sees your IP address.
Hostinger hosts the site. Like any web host, it keeps standard logs (such as IP addresses and the pages visited) for security and to keep the site running.
